A self-contained guide
Every species profile, water description, quiz question and Lab rule is built into DepthLab. The app does not contact our servers or any third-party service to work, and it contains no advertising, analytics or tracking.

Nothing about you is collected
There is no account and no sign-in. DepthLab never asks for your email address or location, and it does not use the camera, microphone or photos. The explorer name in Settings is optional and stays on this device.
Your logbook stays on this device
Favourites, observed species, explored waters, quiz answers and filed Lab conditions are written to a single logbook file inside the app’s private storage on this device, and the optional explorer name is kept in the app’s settings. Nothing is ever uploaded.
Deleting your data
Logbook › Settings › Reset progress removes observed species, explored waters and quiz answers from the logbook file. Favourites and filed conditions can be removed one by one, clearing the name field removes your explorer name, and deleting the app removes everything.
Maps
Location maps are drawn by Apple Maps, which handles map tiles under Apple’s own privacy terms. DepthLab only shows the fixed coordinates of each water and never reads your position.
Children
DepthLab is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because DepthLab collects no personal data, we hold nothing about you that could be accessed, corrected, exported, sold or shared. Everything the app stores lives on your device and is under your control — you can change or delete it at any time as described above. This applies wherever you live, including under the GDPR and the CCPA.
This website
This site is a static page. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. The contact form on this site does not store or forward what you type; to reach us, please email the address below.
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser sends Google a standard request (including your IP address) when the page loads. That request is handled under Google’s Privacy Policy. Our hosting provider may keep ordinary server logs for security and reliability.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date.
